The Downtown Development Parking Office announces parking options for the busy spring graduation season ahead.

The graduation season kicks-off Friday, May 6 with the Shorter University graduation. Georgia Northwestern Technical School, Georgia Highlands, Model, Pepperell, Coosa, Armuchee and Rome High Schools will all hold graduations at The Forum during the month of May.

Off-Street parking is available at several downtown locations. The 3rd Avenue parking deck adjacent to The Forum is $5 and the 6th Avenue parking deck two blocks from The Forum is $2 per event. The W. 4th Ave. parking deck located at the corner of E. 1st St. is $3 per event.

The parking lots located on E. 3rd Ave. and across the river from The Forum off of West 3rd Street are free public lots. On-street parking along Broad Street and surrounding streets is limited to 2 hours per day and is also free.

The parking services office wants people to plan ahead to park smart. “Over 24,000 visitors will come through downtown in May for special events,” said Parking Services Manager Becky Smyth. “People come early and stay late to enjoy the downtown area restaurants and shopping before and after events. We welcome the large increase in visitors and believe easy access to parking is an important part of a great downtown experience.”
