Johanna Allen Appointed as Purchasing Director
The office of the Rome City Manager is pleased to announce Johanna Allen has been appointed as the new Purchasing Director for the City of Rome and will be responsible for directing staff and participating in tasks necessary for purchasing services, equipment, and materials at the lowest possible cost in compliance with city and county ordinances and published guidelines.
Allen has worked for the City of Rome for over 8 years. She first started out in finance as a Staff Accountant and transitioned into the Grants/Internal Auditor position. She moved to purchasing in May of 2014 as the Assistant Director of Purchasing. Allen holds an MBA in Finance from Berry College.
“She certainly has the educational background and detailed experience that we need to deliver high quality professional services leading our Purchasing Department into the future,” said City Manager, Sammy Rich.” It takes an enormous amount of purchasing to provide day to day services on a citywide scale, while also making sure we get the best bang for the buck for our taxpayers.”
Rich added that Allen is a consummate professional and always fights hard to make sure the city gets value out of all purchases and contracts for services.
